NM IMPORT RULES - CAMELID

CAMELID IMPORT REQUIREMENTS (LLAMAS, ALPACAS, CAMELS, VICUNAS)
  1. Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI, "Health Certificate") issued within 30 days of entry, and an ENTRY PERMIT NUMBER issued by the NMLB prior to entry. NOTE: Permit number should be recorded on the CVI.  NMLB currently requires that copies of CVI and test records (if required) be faxed or otherwise submitted to the Board office for review before entry permits will be issued.
     
  2. Individual official identification (either USDA metal tag, USDA 840-series button tag or USDA 840-series microhip) is required for all animals except nursing calves/crias.
     
  3. Entry Permit and CVI must accompany shipments.
     
  4. Currently tests are not required for bovine tuberculosis or Brucellosis.
