As we are notified by any given state of requirements specific to us, we are updating the list below. Of course you should always check with your state of destination before shipping to be be sure you have the latest and best information. We have compiled contact information on all 50 states to assist you in that.

North Dakota - (701) 328-2655
- A certificate of veterinary inspection (CVI) is required on certain animals imported, except livestock consigned directly from producers premises to a licensed auction market or to a state or federally inspected slaughtering establishments. An importation permit is required on female cattle over 12 months of age and all calves under 4 months of age entering the state.
- Official identification is required on all sexually intact cattle. Call for exceptions to this rule.
- Sexually intact cattle of any age must be officially identified prior to entering North Dakota. Nursing calves accompanying their dam are exempt from the rule. Spayed heifers must have a statement from a veterinarian verifying they have been spayed.
- In addition to the general board order regarding ID, all cattle from MN, MI NM, and TX must have official ID, including calves accompanying their dams. SEE ORDER NO. 2008-04 and 2004-01 BELOW.
- All beef cattle, bison and goats six months of age or older, other than castrated males and spayed females, must:
- Be negative to an official test for tuberculosis within 60 days prior to entering North Dakota, OR
- Originate from a tuberculosis accredited free herd; date of last test and accredited herd number listed on CVI;
- Be listed by official identification individually on a health certificate;
- Obtain import permit prior to entry.
- Castrated males and spayed females do not need to be tested but must:
- Be officially identified prior to entry;
- Be listed by official identification individually on a CVI;
- Obtain import permit prior to entry.
- Breeding beef cattle, bison and goats less than six months of age must:
- Originate from a closed herd which has been whole-herd tested negative tuberculosis within 12 months prior to importation, OR
- Originate from tuberculosis accredited free herd (date of last test and accredited herd number listed on CVI) or
- Accompany a negative tested dam.
- Obtain import permit prior to entry.
